Given your age and trying for 6 months, you should see a fertility specialist. There’s a waitlist so we actually got pregnant at 10 months of TTC and a week before our screening tests.
IVF mama x 2 here and definitely agree with seeing a reproductive endocrinologist. If you aren’t sure where to start or are looking for recommendations, the fertility bowl is super helpful
Check out the fertility bowl. There’s a lot of support and conversations on this topic.
I went through two years of trying and 3 miscarriages to have my first.
The waiting is so so hard — I got through it by trying to distract myself and doing things that made me feel good (getting outside, moving my body). I took some cycles off tracking and being really careful about everything too, which I needed for my mental health.
And agree with others saying it’s a good idea to see a fertility doctor. Sometimes there are really simple fixes, like your partner just needs to take Mucinex to address motility issues or something like that.
I hear you. After my first ( which took nearly a year of trying) , I got pregnant relatively quickly when we started TTC. But then I had a miscarriage and after nearly 10 months of trying I went to a fertility clinic to have them do some testing. They found through an HSG that one of my fallopian tubes was blocked which was sad to hear, but good to get clarity. Then miraculously the next cycle of trying after the HSG I got pregnant and am 5 months in! Apparently one of the (unintentional) side effects of HSGs is that for some women within the immediate 1-3 cycles after having them, pregnancy success rates are higher - this also happened to my friend who had been trying a long time too (although her HSG was normal ). Moral of this long story is that I wish I had gone to a fertility clinic to just lean more about what could be the matter (if anything at all). For reference I was 34 when I had my first and 37 now with my second. Good luck to you !
