How do you lift a giant dog (100+ lbs) after surgery, so they can do their business outside? My pup is about to have a procedure done on her hind leg and won't be able to move by herself. She's also too heavy to lift with a dog sling. Thank you!

Cheap option would be two people holding a towel under your dog. One holding it on each side. It would be wider than the sling and disperse the pressure under the belly evenly. Hope your pup heals quickly.

That is what the vets do. They are to big to move by self

I feel like your vet should have suggestions but my thoughts are lots of dog pads and maybe even doggie diapers. Please don’t hurt yourself. It’s easier to clean up when you don’t ruin your back.

Thank you! She has never used a dog pad and has never pee/poo inside the house before, but they are definitely the best option right now

Use a bath towel like a sling for the hind quarters or the front quarters. We've had multiple 3 legged and paraplegic dogs. Our GP had 3 legs and surgery, so the sling to lift him and walk him outside works well. and you don't have to buy anything. He was big, he got a beach towel.

Hotel cart? Lol

These come with push handles.

Put a towel or sheet under the belly towards the back legs and it will allow her to walk with front legs and you just lift the back half. But it also depends on what the Vet recommends. They will give you the best advice.

TPLO surgery? If so, the recovery is rough but your dog’s happiness and lack of pain after they recover make it all worth it. The rescue I got my Saint from recommended Help Em Up Harnesses: https://www.google.com/gasearch?q=help%20em%20up%20harness&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5. I haven’t bought one yet since my Saint is young and thankfully healthy.

What about a beach cart where the front folds out? Something like this. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-All-Terrain-Big-Bucket-Cart-Wagon-Height-27-Blue/1122215036?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=2885&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=222222222781122215036_117755028669_12420145346&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-394283752452&wl5=9002206&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=1122215036&veh=sem_LIA&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIpMez3ldZljKt_2MXrgE_dNO&gclid=Cj0KCQjw8MG1BhCoARIsAHxSiQn5uVJnYGCZXQLGVl1l9eKdJb5PHDfxUwdIjdLFgMeBoy18HSTFVLgaAg1wEALw_wcB#gad_source=1

Wrap a towel around her middle. I did that with my lab after TPLO surgery. Got her back legs up and down the deck stairs.

helpful

If you have two people. You can slide a blanket under her and carry her. One person in front and the other in the rear. If youre alone you can create like a satchel with a sheet.

Ask about a Help 'em up harness - they work wonders. And get another person to help you move her so that you and her are not hurt in the process. If it's a TPLO surgery, they aren't terribly immobile for very long, generally just a week or two. Good luck!

Use the sling to lift in and out of a dog stroller …or wagon like this one

I'm not in sales per se but I manage my company's largest wholesale account ($150 million per/yr account). It's a great company, awesome culture, good benefits, flexibility, but the pay is not great ($60K/yr). All the pros outweighed the mediocre pay, but now with inflation rising, my paycheck isn't going as far and I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out if I should start looking elsewhere or if I should ask my boss for a raise.

Damon as a character vs. Jamie Lannister? They seem like somewhat analogous characters from the two shows. I feel like a lot of people want Damon to have a similar redemptive arc, but it doesn’t seem likely.

My thoughts are he’s just a generally bad person with some decent qualities. Jamie meanwhile was a generally good person who did many terrible things, especially when we met him.

Has anyone ever done aggression training for their dog? Met with a trainer who basically wants us to either keep our dog crated or on a leash at all times and said no pets or play time for now. Our dog has been acting out ever since we brought home our newborn and also bit our groomer. Trainer has me terrified that the dog will hurt the baby but my heart is breaking that I can’t give any “love” to my dog right now. Any similar experiences or thoughts?
