desperately trying to find something that actually works for me AND is sustainable long term

2) cross it off my to do list

Hello
F
One note has a to-do list template that I like - here is how I manage stuff :
Each week gets a new page in my to do list notebook, on each page, every day of the week has its own to do list box. In that box the items are easily movable up/down the list based on priority. Will cut and paste to next day/next week if needed for lower priority
I’m in the middle of the chain meaning I delegate and have to get things reviewed by people above so whenever I delegate something or send something off for review, I add an item to my to do list 1-3 days out to follow up with that person on xyz
For recurring items/items happening farther out (I.e., 6 months from now) - I add a reminder on my outlook calendar and when the time comes it gets put on the to do list
Lastly, I also file emails to appropriate folders when read/responded to so my inbox is also somewhat of a to do list
I use a combo of Microsoft To Do and a planner. If I’m working on work items, I usually use Microsoft To Do because I can invite my team to the list and assign out items. I can also put due dates, hashtags for organizing, and prioritize it. It is also nice because you can have multiple lists. For personal items I have a daily planner from target. It allows me to track what I work on each day in 30 minute increments and has a large section for a to do list. So if something is due in the future I just flip to that day and note it. Or a couple of days before then so I remember to do it in advance. Hope this helps!

My company uses Monday.com. it's great for organizing and tracking tasks for your whole team.
Todoist - started using this (web + desktop app) as it gives reminders and you can assign dates to your to do list. Can organize tasks by projects if needed, if you have a team, you can assign tasks to team as well.
Would assume the pro version is much better but currently using free.
I use Remember the Milk because of the multiple ways to tag items and the reminder feature. At different times I have looked at other apps and stayed with RTM.
excel with a follow up date on everything
Try Planner for actual to dos and one note for the notes
Like a paper planner?
I use a paper planner because writing it down helps me remember better. Also use outlook email to set reminders.
