If the recruiter is persistent, it means your cctc is already within the range, so you can give a wide range like 20-30lpa
lets say if you want 18LPA, then give a range like 18-20LPA . You will get 18 😅
Be shameless and ask for desired ctc+2 lakh buffer. If your skill is in demand this should more than likely work out... It does for me
I totally dodge the question asking the reverse “I’m open , do you have any specific budget for the position “ and they’re silent for few seconds..😀😀
Two ways to look at it..
1. If you low ball yourself..end up not getting what could have been possible
2. If you demand hell more..you are not getting into any discussions and it may be straight reject
Best way
- look at fellow mates at same level and get aligned to what actually is possible
- quote something which you feel justifies your switch
- always ask for icing on cakes - Joining bonus
