How does on get global services on United. Anyone figure out the threshold yet? Based on experience, it's not miles. If it's spend, and Platinum is $12K PQD, maybe it's $20K PQD?

Its a lot more than $20k PQD. Minimum $40k usually unless your from a small airport. It's all about $/mile tho, not just spend.

Cool thanks all. We'll see if my upcoming international flight puts me over the edge. I've flown 150k miles already this year

Look at the experts: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/united-airlines-mileageplus/1798091-2017-gs-qualifying-discussion.html

Minimum is more like $50k on United metal

12K is 1k spending. It's based on airport as well. All kinds of things go into it.

I was given it once without having to earn it when I was in industry in executive management and UA was our primary carrier. I would assume that getting it other than as an "influencer" would probably require you to be among their top spenders (think not just lots of flights but with higher fares). If you're buying a bunch of fully refundable international business/first class fares on UA-operated flights all year I'd say you have a decent chance. I would doubt lots of domestic nonrefundable fares all year is enough - that just makes you a 1K with more miles than other 1Ks.

I've made GS on less than $50k for three years D2. It's not $, it's based off $/mile.

Guy I work with got it going from Denver to bentonville every week. You can do it domestically

I had $54k in pqd this last year (200k miles) and didnt make it.

$50-60k for ORD it seems

Hi everyone! I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred card right now. I want to upgrade to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.

I’ve heard it’s better to downgrade the Chase Preferred card to a Freedom Unlimited card and then apply for the Reserve card.

I have about 150k points on my Preferred card — if I downgrade to the freedom unlimited card will I get to keep my points? Will my points be worth the same for travel/pay yourself back? (I think it’s 25% more)

Any downsides/done this recently?

Hey all! Looking for recruiter/hiring manager input. My husband has been looking for work for several months now, with no leads. He left his career in construction staffing to help me focus on my travel career, allowing him to be home more often. BA in Marketing, background in logistics and project management, mostly. Zero call backs, except for entry level, minimum wage associate positions. Located in Florida. Is this a market/economy situation? Is his resume terrible? Any help is welcome!

Genuine question. Do you have to put every job you’ve had on a resume, or can you just put relevant information?

I am a college student who has unfortunately had to change jobs each semester. I have left all on good terms, but it is awkward having all on a resume. What should I do?

Additional Posts in Consulting

Recently hired a consulting firm for basic process mapping project (4 team members).

They roll in 4 deep to every meeting. They marketed themselves as expert in process mapping and SMEs but really seem lost. Still trying to come up with a project plan after 3 weeks.

I have empathy bc I have been on the other side of this myself as a consultant new to a project, but on this side it just seems laughable. It definitely appears they are working crazy hours too for no meaningful output.
