Its a lot more than $20k PQD. Minimum $40k usually unless your from a small airport. It's all about $/mile tho, not just spend.
Cool thanks all. We'll see if my upcoming international flight puts me over the edge. I've flown 150k miles already this year
Look at the experts: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/united-airlines-mileageplus/1798091-2017-gs-qualifying-discussion.html
Minimum is more like $50k on United metal
12K is 1k spending. It's based on airport as well. All kinds of things go into it.
I was given it once without having to earn it when I was in industry in executive management and UA was our primary carrier. I would assume that getting it other than as an "influencer" would probably require you to be among their top spenders (think not just lots of flights but with higher fares). If you're buying a bunch of fully refundable international business/first class fares on UA-operated flights all year I'd say you have a decent chance. I would doubt lots of domestic nonrefundable fares all year is enough - that just makes you a 1K with more miles than other 1Ks.
I've made GS on less than $50k for three years D2. It's not $, it's based off $/mile.
Guy I work with got it going from Denver to bentonville every week. You can do it domestically
I had $54k in pqd this last year (200k miles) and didnt make it.
$50-60k for ORD it seems
