How does taking a mental health absence impact your career? I work for a large firm and need to take some time for my mental wellbeing but I'm worried my career will be impacted or I'll be weeded out at my firm. I don't want to be seen as weak but I feel like I'll have a complete breakdown if I don't do something.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support. I think volunteering as a family can help install the value of giving back and zakaat. Got an offer from a big bank’s operation department (fund reporting analyst), currently at EY faas and I’m not happy here, should I stick it out here until I get promotion or jump now? The salary offered is about the same I get now ( a few K higher). but I’m worried about flexibility (not as many vacations, promotions) if I jump to industry :(
