That depends: are you a pancake or waffle brain?
As opposed to the legal trouble EY has gotten into over the sexual harassment stuff? And before you respond.. I use to work for EY. I am not putting EY down.. just pointing out that every firm has its issues.
The same. Neither one has a corporate culture, because neither one is a corporation.🙏😯
Heyoooooo!!!!!
OP - like many of these things it will depend on the office and the group. Is there a specific team you are looking to compare?
OP - I am ITTS in NY. This is will really now depend on what office you are in. The type of work that EY and PwC ITS do is very similar. Both are high end consulting shops that focus more on planning than compliance. DT and KPMG are heavier on quantitative services than EY and PwC. We all do the same things but what we do more of is different. As such, I think you’ll find the practices to be fairly similar in that regard. You will be surrounded by a lot of hard working smart people, but the cultures will vary by the team and office you are in. That is as true at EY as it will be at PwC.
I understand why you may not want to share but you may need to ask about an office or Region to get a sense of the specific culture from people.
I appreciate you are asking about potentially leaving EY ITTS, my group, but I would be happy to talk to you. Confidentially - of course. DM me if you want and completely understand if you don’t want to.
You can ask the question even within the firm in different offices. Cultures can be wildly different.
Generally though, from my experiences, the smaller the offices the more tight knit (and potentially gossipy). The larger, the less tight knit and friendly. Bigger cities give you more ops to see more people but also know less of people.
I’m in a small office in the southeast, and like you said, it is a very tight knit group of people, but they are not gossipy at all. I recently joined and the people in my LoS (tax) have been incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everybody is welcomed and gets along and we do various out of office activities together. Don’t discount smaller offices!! If you have genuine, quality people in your office, it makes all the difference
Way better... Wish I was back. Much better culture from the top down.
I think they sent it late last week
Worked at EY for a long time and I can say they are fake. If you’re a partner, you can get away with anything. If you are a staff or manager, charging a small personal meal for a reimbursement and they go all out about Code of Conduct. A partner can get away with so much for so long until there are legal repercussions. THIS IS EY - MAKING A BETTER WORKING WORLD!
Who hurt you?
Agreed it can vary at each company, at each office, and then each group. However at the end of the day most of the big 4 generally offer the same services it’s about finding the right fit for you
