Hi everyone, I'm comparing two offers from Accenture and Cognizant. Could you help me figure out some of these questions: 1. At 5 YOE, what kind of package can I expect? Current offers: Accenture (12LPA fixed, 2.5L variable), Cognizant (14.3LPA fixed, 45K variable) 2. Nature of work - What kind of work can I expect from these companies? 3. would I get the opp to use any authoring Tools? 4. Work life balance - which is better? 5. Increments - avg % hike? 6. Culture - which is better?

I'm pretty antisocial and they only go to them if I feel like I really need to. Which isn't very often. It probably hasn't helped me in my career, but I don't really care because I don't like small talk with work colleagues.

Depends on company size. The smaller the company, the more important it is to show up IMO. You don't want to be the person who's noticeably absent when everyone knows one another.

Totally agree with you
I think it’s important to make an effort sometimes but there’s no need to go all the time. However, it also depends on your goals. If you’re trying to quickly climb the ladder, then it’s probably in your best interest to go to more events and put yourself out there

I live over 500 miles away from the office but the invitation to join them has been presented to me. Flights/travel paid. I personally don’t want to because of my social anxiety but all in all the people I work with are beyond cool so I would be down if it wasn’t for the anxiety. It’s definitely a great way to network tbh

It’s good if you want to network. I’ve gone to a few and was able to make good connections and learn more about what each connection does at work. It has helped me tremendously.
