tldr - do your best on IR.
Wharton has actually done research and determined that the IR score is the best indicator of success (not sure how they define success) in their program. As such, candidates with a lower (sub 700) test score who have a strong (7 or 8) IR will get a good look.
Also, if you totally punt on the IR, admissions committee will view that as you not caring about what doesn't 'count.' They can (and will) extrapolate that if you are a 'finance' person, you may not put in effort in core classes that don't relate to the direction you want to go.
