Depends on urgency but I make myself available at all times
I don’t have boundaries beyond which I don’t respond. I will say my response depends on who pings me. If it’s a partner I respect for and want to work with, I have no problem going the extra mile. The irony is people I’ve chosen to work with have a lot of respect for my time and are able to manage themselves and the work so I don’t get late pings too often. Only exception being when there’s a true emergency.
This is the answer.
Noon
Any time they message, if I'm awake.
If I’m up working on things, I generally don’t care when they ping. When I’m done working for the night, the work phone stays with the work laptop. If it’s truly important they’ll call my personal cell. (They never call)
If I see my staff working late (say after 9), I’m more likely to ping them to ask what they’re working on, just to make sure that they’re not burning themselves out.
If I’m being paid well enough, as late as they’d like. I feel like most companies have abandoned the concept of paying your employee more, and they may just do more.
Honestly this. If I'm being paid a responds at midnight salary, I'll respond at midnight. Right now my salary is firmly in the 5pm bucket, but sometimes I do charity responses in the evenings.
Depends on if I am awake.
7 pm is my cut off. That seems more than fair to me.
After 5pm they won’t hear a peep from me until I login the next morning, respectfully.
Depends on the urgency, but typically before dinner with my family.
About to jump on a 5pm Sunday call so…
Mine is 8PM, unless I know we’re in crunch time on a project
Willing? Anytime. A better question is at what time do I no longer feel required to respond. As others have said, it’s situation dependent, but anything urgent/timely should be a phone call or text if it’s after hours. For email or Teams, I feel like I ought to respond to anything timely via email or Teams until 6 pm, unless there are special circumstances.
5PM 💃🏻
If it’s urgent/important, I’m calling not emailing. Teams is kinda like a hallway conversation. If I have a moment and am paying attention.
America in a nut shell lmao
Depends on the day and topic - be careful you don’t set an expectation 😉
Anytime.
Pro
Im willing to respond so late that it is tomorrow morning.
6pm my time
5-8pm is strict family time so willing to respond to email until probably 10pm then it's bedtime for me!
