How likely are more layoffs before this year ends? Just wondering, with all the layoffs in news. I’m starting to get a little anxious/worried regarding job security… Should we be concerned? I’m schedule to go on maternity leave in April.

The law protects your job while you are on maternity leave so don’t worry . If anything , your leave will shield you :-)

It’s state specific. CA for example protect

If your role is deemed no longer necessary/justified business case for eliminating the role, you are not exempt from layoffs.

Are you a revenue generator or a support role?

I transitioned in-house from Big Law a year ago. When I left my law firm, I was really burned out and was looking forward to more normal hours. My in-house hours are a ton better but some days I still feel like I’m suffering from burn out, almost like a Big Law hangover that won’t go away. Anyone else experience this? How long did it last?
