Just got on the bench and I’m really considering trying to transfer to AFS. I have a puppy and my last role was remote so it was easy to be with him but I don’t want to get on a traveling project...

I know we all love the work from home (or do we?) but does anyone actually miss traveling for their consulting engagements and all the fun that goes along with it? The late nights at the office then the bar and random hookups and excitement and all that? Sure it’s a grind but I think I actually miss it too. Maybe I just miss seeing people at work or seeing people at all. I wonder if we’ll ever get back to that.

A partner called me from SF to NYC to discuss the deck for a client meeting on Wednesday. He just 'forgot' to tell me he's working remote for today and tomorrow..bitch!

I really want to get a puppy given WFH currently, but nervous about pulling the trigger given that we are likely returning to travel at some point in 2021. I’m single and live by myself, so worried about what the pups lifestyle would look like if I returned to travel 1-3 days a week (knowing that 3-days per week is certainly not fair to the dog). How have others thought about this? I’ve raised 4 dogs growing up, so I’m well aware of what it takes from a training / attention standpoint.

I’m a first time dog owner, got a covid puppy, and would appreciate some advice around what to do with my dog, if I have to return to the office 3 days a week. I imagine I’ll be gone for about 9 hours. Do people just pay the $20-30 for a dog walker in Toronto? Isn’t that a lot of money? My dog’s breed doesn’t actually need much walking but he definitely would get bored by himself for so long. I am so torn, between taking a work from home 4/5 days job vs intense hybrid corporate work.
