I'd say be mindful of Chase and the 5/24 rule (no more than five new cards every 24 months across all banks). This really only comes into play if you're looking to add additional Chase cards to your wallet (Marriott, United, Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, etc.). That being said, focus on adding anything from Chase first before you go wild with other offers. Another key is looking at annual fees. Make sure you get tangible benefits for what you're paying.
The new Marriott card is likely going to have a nice sign up bonus so I'd wait and get that. Probably also add SPG card as you mentioned as they are finally going to start offering a free night award like the Marriott card. If done right the free night more than offsets the annual fee.
As far as airlines go, I'd probably only go for something that you fly with frequency and aligns to your goals for how you plan to use the miles. If you already have status, the low level airline credit cards really offer little to no value outside of signup bonus. If you fly often, consider getting a card that offers lounge access. I carry the AA Aviator Red card as it gets you 10% of redeemed miles returned, which makes that business class ticket to Europe 90k instead of 100k.
Doesn't matter what airline as LA is a hub for nearly everything but was leaning towards SW despite the lack of international travel. Then it would be between SPG and Marriott for hotel CC. Could get both but also worry opening too many cards will be a bad thing. Obviously new to consulting here😬
Ok with paying fees for all....what will you use for booking flights the csr card or the airline card...since you will get max points for travel in both..
