How many individual contributors should a frontline manager be expected to manage?

For context, we are a mostly remote company. The number of directs a frontline manager has reporting to them varies from 12 to 25 across our operations departments. Is there a sweet spot you have found that works?

I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute. I am having discussions with my teachers on ways that I can better support them and the students when remote.

Sign-on bonus:10k

I went to a T14 law school, got great grades and glowing recommendations, and wrote (what I thought was) a great writing sample. But I got rejected from all 70 federal clerkships I applied to. The only thing I can think of is: I took a non traditional route after law school and did a 2 year public interest fellowship in a niche field of administrative law.
