1) Are you in a HCOL? MCOL? Regardless of location these factors should be taken into consideration and align with industry expectation for that role. Regardless if you have to live there or in BFE.
2) What is your industry standard? What do you have to bring to the table? Are you comparatively towards the higher range of performers in your space and YOE or not? Do you have facts to back this up?
I was remote for 2yrs and they’re right; your costs do go down. But negotiating salary is all about ur value prop and how you compare to industry. Have two-three good points of what your value add is and ask for that salary! But also be cognizant of the company and role: its unlikely that a company offering you 60K would go up to 90K and thats just how it is.
Amazing! If you’re open to going for 110k + signing bonus then definitely make that case, similar situation happened to me and they told me a base comp increase was a no go but they gave me the signing bonus! Best of luck to you!
