I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

I gave a heads up about 3-4 months prior. You’ll need to apply/submit info showing your partner is pregnant to the benefits company. Depending on what state you’re in, I think a lot of the time your pay is split between your company and the state.
I took mine in New York, and got 12 weeks fully paid. I think California is about the same. Take as much time as you can, trust me!

Thank you for the info. Can't remember if CA gives 12 weeks, but I do recall them letting you use them at any point in the first year. I kinda like the idea of saving some to use later. But I'll look into it, thanks again

The sooner the better. Just remember there’s things you need to do (paperwork etc) before going on paid leave so it’s not like you can tell them the week before your baby is about to be born.
