From what I know contract position for same level are paid higher than FTE unless you had stock options in contract. Curious to know if this is not a standard
Pay RAISE? Oh no, no, no. Your pay will decrease, but benefits are almost immeasurable.
I was hired at my current job at 0 YOE. Now I'm being rehired at 3 YOE. Even if FTE pay is lower, shouldn't the 3 YOE be taken into account?
You should expect a decrease in base, but increase in benefits. Sorry pal
I’m going to use theoretical numbers. BMS pays 100K/annually to agency for you. If they convert you to FTE, BMS says now I have to pay a 15% bonus, X amount of stock annually, give you access to various insurance options (whether you take it or not), disability, retirement, profit sharing, and other employee benefits etc. So they place a value on all that. It’s actually decently high if you do the math. So then BMS says that 90k base should suffice given everything else I’m about to give you. If you’re getting converted to FTE in a new and higher role, then yes you can expect more pay. But if it’s the same role, generally the base $ is a little less, but more than compensated for by the rest of the package. I’m not saying it is right, but it’s reality in a lot of cases. You can then expect a pay increase during the company’s annual pay cycle.
