Let’s talk about the laundry list of times I’ve interviewed, thought I nailed it, then didn’t get an offer.
Same here these days. I’m looking for some hope!
Well see. I feel like I just nailed 3 rounds of interviews. But I never know these days. It certainly gets tougher the higher up the ladder you are.
It feels that way, thank you for confirming. As one AD (out of many).. why do I have to meet with CEOs?! I appreciate the 360 view, but I also don’t have much time 💀
I've had 4 "important" interviews in the last 6.5 years. Once I thought I did just okay and got the offer. Followed that shortly by thought I might do okay but realised midway through I was woefully unprepared for the interview (there was homework), and wasn't expecting round 2 (which included global travel to HQ). Once I thought it went well but never heard from them again (they didn't really believe I would leave NY to go back to Toronto, even though I don't really love NY and all my friends and family are still in TO). And once I wasn't sure but got a unanimous "yes" from the team.
Current job is just ok and I got the job after just an ok interview. Interview before it was the best interview of my life and I got passed up. 🤷♂️
I had two important interviews over the past few years and both involved heated conflicts. At both, I stood my ground on being correct, offering the brief reasoning. I thought it unlikely that I would get those jobs, but both followed up with offers.
For context, I am a female who has often received feedback that I am too nice. Maybe the interviewers were testing to see if I can be tough and comfortable with confrontation.
