I’d say I work 10+ hours on a weekend about twice / year. Many weekends I do little to no work. It’s common to spend an hour catching up on emails and planning the week on a Sunday. (US based Manager).
I think it depends if you’re in deals or not. In deals, you’re expected to work regularly. And I’d say the average is 4 hours a weekend (responding to emails, getting on a call, but very little excel / ppt work).
Thank you - that data point is useful! Trying to crowd source an honest idea here since I don’t know how to ask that question during interviews. Happy to crunch when needed but I value my weekends since I plan on being in this career long term.
Do you know what the culture generally is regarding weekend work?
