That’s not old
There was an older CD at Saatchi that somehow avoided all the layoffs. I wanna say that he was either at retiring age or over. Well guess what, the poor thing had a heart attack at his desk eating lunch.
@acd2. You say we’re settting boundaries. Well, as someone who’s still working past 60, I feel any boundary I want to put up is constantly knocked down by some 30 something ECD who thinks I’m past any usefulness as soon as they see my head of grey. There are a lot of over promoted people in this business now who won their awards (just like I did over and over) and now think they can punch down on everyone in their path. Honestly, I’d love to see whether this new attitude you’re talking about g about really exists.
It’s definitely different for men and women. I’ve seen older men hired but no woman over late 50s.
Do people ask your age when hired? Can I hide my age?

People ask your sexual orientation now when hiring you. I’m sure they ask your age as well.

There are plenty of folks over 40 - even over 50 today. Much has changed in the past 10-15 years. That being said, people have to keep their skills up to speed. That - not age - is sometimes the problem.
This could be at any age when their work is no longer relevant.
