First day
Wait a year. Keep them guessing
Reminds me of my platoon sgt in the Army. We would do lane training exercises and were supposed to radio in when we reached a checkpoint. The opposing forces would listen to our radio channels so they knew when to get off their butts and set up to ambush us.
He advised me to never radio in until you were almost to the *next* checkpoint. That way you were just as likely to catch them by surprise as the other way around.
I always wait about 3 months. Enough time to pass the probationary period and background check and definitely enough time for the old boss you screwed over to get over their anger and not want to retaliate
Day 1. Same with resume and exit opportunity. Always be prepared! 🤣
Give it a week or two IMO. Posting immediately as you join is a little too presumptuous.
Hopefully not! But it’s always better to settle in a little bit into your new job before posting publicly. Again, this is MY OPINION, the OP or the others are free to do what they feel best. There can never be only 1 right answer to such subjective questions.
First day
I put it up on day one to try to stave off the wolves - with my particular skillset I was getting an overwhelming amount of inquires and was hoping to slowdown the messages. Normally I'd wait a few weeks until I had a few good lines of description.
One week. So I update about every two - three weeks
I gave my 2 weeks to a competitor firm and they asked to roll me off by EOD (firm policy).
Updated my LinkedIn tagline to “On Vacation,” sent out a goodbye email to my peers linking them to that, then hopped on a flight to Europe.
First day of new job changed to new title. Who cares?
