I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?

I was put into PIP in my first company. I believed my manager said that it's only for improvement. I signed it. Later realized it's a termination plan. So I quit the company. But after 5 years I got a call from my First company HR for another role, I was happy to take that opportunity. But later HR called me and said they couldn't proceed for some reason. DO YOU JUST ASSUME THE COST OF YOUR MARKETING ACTIVITIES? I am looking to allocate their cost in the marketing budget in a way that won't rely on several layers of assumptions. How do you reliably estimate the cost of different marketing activities (email, social, web, etc) when you don't have specific people or tools allocated to each function and costs are spread across many channels? Ads seems the easiest, but even then there's time and overheads... I've been looking for a reliable model.

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented.
