Thanks! I guess 10K is where you should aim for and see what they say!

I'm new to the industry and this is my first corporate job. Been working as a BI analyst for about 2.5 years and I roughly make $80k. I'm having a hard time trying to gauge how much should I be making, or if I speak to my manager about increasing compensation how much to ask for so I won't sound absurd. Do you all have any tips on this or are there any tools that I can use to accurately gauge how on average much I should be earning?

Does anyone else find it difficult to ask for time off? I haven’t taken a “vacation day” since February, billed 185+ hour months consistently through the pandemic (exceeded hours for 2020 bonus eligibility), and am feeling pretty burnt out. It’s hard because other associates in my department haven’t really taken any time off either (or it has been a day or two sporadically). Would really love to take some days over Christmas to recharge but I’m nervous about perception.

I am recently serving a notice period in my current organization. I have 2 offers in hand and I am a bit confused about where to move. First is giving me a kind of work that I have always wanted but is demanding relocation to a city where the cost of living is very much high, Saturdays working and average pay. The second is giving me a basic working pattern (I do not enjoy it too much) but it's allowing me to stay back at my current location, more salary than the first one. Help me to choose.

For my 401k I have a section that shows Roth contributions and earnings. I have a different section that is labeled “nontaxable balances” and just shows Roth contributions. The Roth contributions number is smaller than the Roth contributions and earnings (which is expected since my contributions have grown). But why aren’t my Roth contributions AND earnings showing in the nontaxable balances section?

I am on my 3rd H1B company and joined recently. The current employer is someone whom I have worked for before. If I get a better offer in the upcoming months, I would take it. I am concerned that the current one wouldn’t give me a customized Employment Verification Letter. I would need to get it from a common company template. How important it is to have a customized EVL and signature of the manager?

Spinoff question... I know FMLA technically only covers you if you've worked for 12 months at your employer but has anyone actually had their employer say "sorry you we only here for 10 months so you can take your two weeks of accrued vacation, after that we'll expect you back." ? Since FMLA is unpaid anyway, I would imagine most employers would at least let you have unpaid time off.
