How would you address a company's low Glassdoor ratings during an interview? I don't check these before I apply to jobs since the app to interview ratio is so low. I now have an interview scheduled with a company that has a 2.2 rating. I probably wouldn't even take this job based on this alone, but I still want to do the interview for practice and hear what they have to say about it.

I would look through the actual reviews and ask about some of the themes there, also noting (to yourself) the dates/recency. Phrasing such as "I was going through the companies Glassdoor reviews, and in the past couple of years the themes of (theme A here) and (theme B here) are commonly cited. Can you share a perspective on that, and if the company or leadership team is taking any concrete steps to address the issues?". Definitely wait until you are deeper into the interview - when you reach the "What questions do you have for us?" portion. Ask one or two more generic "soft ball" inquiries first before bringing this one up. But it's fair game, and also just shows you've done your research.

I’m not sure that I would bring up the review specifically, but I would ask about culture and I would ask questions surrounding what I read

In this market I think most unemployed people would be happy just to have a job, regardless of GD ratings. If the company is toxic, at least it's a paycheck while you search for the next opportunity.

Just keep looking. I interviewed with a company where 9/10 reviews said the same thing: this place sucks and the CEO is a criminal. I still interviewed. I was desperate.

The final round came, the guy who would be my manager basically said: "Yeah, the guy who runs this place is involved in mafia type stuff, plus, he hates people who are not his own race and ethnicity. Are you sure you're cool with that?"

I was not cool with that.

Should I leave my first permanent job as a team leader of 4 DPs in a FMCG business (only been there for 4 months) to join a huge Tech business for a 12months contract?

They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

However, I am worried if I accept the tech role and I do not become permanent I will be looking again for a job in 12-24 months and my CV won't be showing a managerial position. Won't be showing any progress.

I’m new to this space so not sure about what kind of roles there are?
