Pretty good. Spent a few hours talking with a friend as he considers going for warrant and 6 more years in vs getting out in 2. Never thought I'd be the old guy being asked for advice on stuff like that.
Doing well! Yourself?
Life is good! When I posted this, it was just to get some conversation in here as it’s been so quiet.
Got some feedback yesterday though which has gotten in my head. I posted above should you be interested.
Enjoy your weekend!
Pretty good how about yourself?
I went to the Palo Alto VA for TBI treatment and it was the best decision. My memory is still pretty subpar, but I’m in a much better situation after talking to psychiatry about it. I sleep now and my recall has gotten better (on meds). Also take stuff for migraines.
Took me a long time to get over the embarrassment of taking meds to cope with my new normal.
FYI I’m doing really well in the commercial sector.
Tell him to join consulting way better 💰
He'll be right at 25 years in and 43 if he takes the warrant option. Speaks 4 languages. Knows logistics well and project management. He'll do fine no matter what option he takes.
Best money for him would be a private security firm for a couple years though not consulting. He's been SF for his entire career and could make a couple hundred grand a year tax free easily as a contractor. He wants industry though. Question is when.
Not bad. Applied for MBAs round 2: got interview invite from Michigan, but and the dreaded don't from Harvard. Not very upset about Harvard, it was a stretch anyway.
