Seems like it’ll be easier to get to 1K
For anyone too lazy to read:
Wonder how this will impact United Corporate partners such as all of our consultant firms. Surely will get more ROI
Looks like it'll be a great change for consultants!

Seriously. I spent 58k one year and had to do a mileage run just to hit platinum.
Similar spot. Spent $40K with United last year and struggled to make platinum. Happy with this change
Agreed, before it was tough to get top status without cross country or international travel.
I do trips to Asia at least twice a year. That’s around 42k PQM currently. With this new system, I would only get ~3000 PQP if I fly United bird. It makes me think that flying partner airlines is worth a little bit more because I can get around 7000 PQP doing it (assuming similar ticket prices).
Is PQF considered the same as PQS?
What I am seeing as the big difference... folks who book more expensive direct flights (aka me) will get more status than people booking cheaper connecting flights who got more miles under the old scheme
Really excited about this change. Was not easy for me to get top status under the old rules..
Surprised at the positive reactions. I’m West Coast based so the miles are never an issue, and it’s easy to do a couple mileage runs if needed. But my weekly flights are often only $300-400 of PQD, which will make it difficult to reach even Platinum now.
Are a lot of you more senior and thus booking later (i.e., more expensive) travel, whereas M and below are typically asked to book 14-21 days out? Or are you getting the chance to do book business?
I’m impressed you managed fly 125k miles for under $15k, but stinks that’s holding you back from 1k.
I’ve only flown 24k miles this year and my PQD is $4,200.
