Got an offer for SE III at a large tech company. Product I'd be working on interests me and I think I could grow more than in my current role.

Currently I make 180k base and have ISO/RSUs @ startup (60k/yr worth on paper, but won't be worth anything for a few years, if at all).

The offer is:
Base: $166,500
Target Bonus: 10% ($16,650)
RSU: 120k total (30k/yr)

Thoughts on offer? Should I counter?

Additionally there's a yearly target RSU bonus about equal to the cash bonus. Thoughts? 4.5 YOE

Lots of right wing hysteria about liberals trying to engineer equality of outcome to correct sexual/racial inequities (in higher ed, for example). I think we all want socioeconomic, gender and racial barriers to opportunities to be addressed, but no significant number of people really believe in equality of outcome right? So I have a felony. I interviewed with a recruiter today who was super cheerful and nice. Once I disclosed my felony, which she already knew about since a friend referred me to her, she immediately stopped the interview and said she couldn’t in good faith move forward on my application given the nature of my offense. I explained that I had done my time, paid my fines and restitution and had the experience to become a great asset to the organization. -she suggested I look into bartending.

Interviewed for a GS-15 (same agency but different office) and totally aced the interview with excellent answers. They know I’m a top performer with senior references. However I noticed there was an internal candidate who has been there for few years and interviewed that’s a veteran. I feel my chances just sank and want to gauge thoughts.

Best consulting firms to work for in Hartford CT area?

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

Why do some people get laid off and others not? Is it always utilization? Do people typically know they're at risk before it gets to that point?
