I accepted an offer at a consulting firm in the U.S. (mid-tier, GT/Protiviti-type) and cleared all interviews and background checks. Due to a personal situation, I withdrew before the start date. Things are now resolved and I reached back out, but HR says they are considering other candidates. The role is still open. Has anyone successfully been rehired after withdrawing? Should I reapply or move on?

Today I learned a new thing. One candidate was referred by a colleague of mine in the system. He got selected and offer letter rolled out.

When he checked the system he realized the referral was not taken and the background system captured it as direct hire.

So my friend is not going to get any referral incentive.

I'm holding an offer from MakeMyTrip and another offer from OlaElectric. Ninjacart is willing to make me an offer. But they're saying that they'd discuss the offer only after the other company that I'm interviewing with has come up with an offer first. There's been a delay from HRs of the companies in a similar way. How do I urge them to send me the offer letter without sounding pushy? I had reached out to some of the HRs myself. Would that be too awkward if I accept & back out their offer?
