I always underestimate the impact I make on people’s life just by being in my leadership role. One of our warehouse guys last day was yesterday he had a conversation with our assistant store manager and gave me praise. My manager told me today and I never knew how much I needed to hear that.
I say that to say never dim your light for nothing or no one! Your light shines bright enough for everyone to see some will appreciate it and others will block the rays!

Today I learned a new thing. One candidate was referred by a colleague of mine in the system. He got selected and offer letter rolled out.

When he checked the system he realized the referral was not taken and the background system captured it as direct hire.

So my friend is not going to get any referral incentive.

Wondering if anyone else faced the same issue?

At a different job I had a customer trying to swindle me in telling me that there was a deal in an item that never had a deal or promotion for sale so he made me scan the item 20 times before believing me. Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.
