Hi fishes,
Why TCS is so rude and self proclaimed kinda. I declined TCS offer last year as they were giving very less CTC. Now I got interviewed again with TCS and cleared all the rounds but they are not reactivating my ibegin portal for document upload since I rejected them last year...in this way u think they will never ever reactivate my profile.

I don’t think you are done at 50. I do think you have to keep your experience fresh and appropriate to the output of today.
I’m 40 renting an apartment with no savings and no investments living paycheck to paycheck. You’re way better than average.
Same
45 gcd/freelance. Approx 3M (if we’re counting home equity) Best move I’ve done was committing to getting a financial planner and just letting them manage the money. Sure they take a commission but the growth rate and focus on a goal is better than I can do with my severe scarcity mentality. Think of it as getting a personal trainer for your money. Also get a personal trainer… and skateboard (but only because it’s been shown to stave off midlife crises) which will make you younger mentally than most of the sad people you’re managing at an agency.
Also it feels really good to know you’re better off financially than your ecd or cco.
Absolutely 100% get a financial planner. Our NW is around 4 million split between home and stocks. We could not have done the planning, buying and trading of stocks without our planner. Same guy for 15 +years. When I retire he’s one of the first people I’ll pop a cork with.
44. GCD in SF. Rent my apartment and have two young kids. Have a decent 401k and stocks and whatnot but not near 1mm net worth. You’re doing great
Please share the name of the financial planners if you’re willing, those of you who have been pleased with yours!! I just learned how much college costs these days and it’s a lot more than I had planned for 😱
Also how many of y’all are men ?!?
Man here!
Nope. I just have you 10 years. Not nearly as high a net worth. And a kid starting college next year. I'd say take a deep breath. You're doing fine.
Does the 1M include a home or apartment you own? Just curious.
Yes
Great spot to be in – well done.
That said, I would begin a pivot to move to an in-house role with in a "boring" company (financial services, manufacturing, etc.) and make a plan to get out of the agency world in the next 2-3 years.
Someday, sooner than you think, your age will start to be a liability and they'll want to stick you on an ice floe.
Make the move before you hit that wall.
Good luck!
Those of you in the 1mil club could retire to Latin America, South East Asia or Europe and be fine… and as long as you don’t have debt. Cities in the US have become very expensive…
