It’ll kill all of your momentum - if you’re okay with 120 + equity and 5% raises for the rest of your career, do it - otherwise - stick it out.
I wouldn’t leave public for anything less than a 30% raise to make up for the lost career traction.
Op is an S4, if they are struggling to get manager promo in PA, they will struggle with promos in industry for sure
It’s up to you. M1 is correct when they say that your career growth will be slower. It’s easier to move up the chain in public though the job is usually less tolerable
BUT don’t think that it’s impossible to move up in private. If you’re good at office politics and the organization is big enough, you could be making a shitload of money in time. I know people who began as directors (probably making in the low 200s) who moved up to CFO and then to COO in only like 8 years. That COO spot paid close to 7 figures. So it’s possible to do well in private too
Not completely sure on that but I think about ten years
