It's really a shame that we as a society continue making teaching an unsustainable profession. I'm sorry for you, OP, teachers deserve far better! I would start by looking on linkedin, it's where I usually have luck. Networking is good too if you still have industry connections. The job market is really really bad right now, so try not to be discouraged if it takes awhile before you get calls. Just keep applying.
It’s a bummer, I’m glad my principle is great and is letting me still work with sports and clubs if I leave.
LinkedIn has already been a great resource, now it’s just getting out of my comfort zone and looking into companies I’ve never heard of before. Dice.com has tech jobs, maybe look for something like a junior analyst.
Usually there are analysts on the IT side, and the Business side. Titles would be: business analyst, where you work with the business to see what they want, and write the requirements for the IT side to code. Also make sure you understand process flows, and how data is stored. Take some SQL classes, some of the local colleges usually offer cheap intro classes. Look at some of the healthcare companies.
Look for jobs on HigherEd.com. Almost all are positions specifically for former teachers or people in education. Often lots of positions at universities, student enrollment, advisories, research, etc. even if it's a lateral move, most universities have hundreds if not thousands of jobs internally just for current employees.
