I am currently an IT Audit Manager at a mid sized external firm. Currently exploring some of my other options outside of external IT audit and one role that does interest me is a Tech auditor role for Google. The work seems interesting and it would be more pay, but this would be a step down from manager if I were to pursue this role or a similar one. Has anyone made a move like this? Interested in how this would negatively or positively impact my career in the long term

Is part time work in audit ever possible?

Only senior on a demanding client, managing multiple staff and managers. I’m a senior at a mid tier and been working about 70-75 hours for last 3 weeks on a SEC client. Now I roll off to a new job but the manager wants me to come back and help out the team more. Does anyone have any insight into partners retiring early? I am at a point where I need to consider leaving if I am not aiming for partner. I don’t see myself working past my 40s. Does industry have billable hours? At the big 4, we are required to work a certain number of hours each week and if we spend too much time on anything we are questioned on why it took so long. Is that a thing when you go in industry?
