I am finding DS less and less compelling, especially with the aim of senior leadership opportunities, and thinking of switching to strategy or product management. Any tips on making such a change? How do I pitch myself for such roles? 8 yoe, 5 as a SWE/DS. (Not at KPMG currently, in a recent IPO tech company)

Do you count internships towards your years of experience? I did 20 months all together interning but not sure if that moves my needle from mid to senior when job hunting.

If you are fresher, go for a WF Office setup. You will learn things beyond your work. In the initial phase of of your career, one needs to focus more on learning than on comfort. The interactions at office, meeting with collegues, conversations at the cafeteria, sense of responsibilty, the need to walk up on time to reach office etc will shape you for better.

Once you have a work experience of few year then any setup is fine. Go for WFH.
