Sorry you're experiencing this. Keep looking elsewhere something better is coming your way.
Sounds like time to go to HR
Keep paper trail. I don't think she should be telling you to look somewhere else, I think that's workplace bullying.
When she says something crazy, ask her to put it in writing in an email.
You can even see if someone in HR/ employee relations can sit in your meeting with her.
Note that contacting HR can put a target on your back so be careful if you go that route.
It’s always been like that, she hardly makes an eye contact with me. She was ok with others. I just go by my work with her. Now that she is my manager and we have regular meets, it’s strictly business. It’s hard to get through her
She nitpicking criticizing everything I do and I have a feeling that she is watching me all the time. She is very direct and tough and everyone knows that. She usually gets her way even from her bosses. That’s stressing me out. I feel like there is no empathy and she only wants to make sure I don’t get promo for budget reason and not to move me to the same level as she. I am looking for job, but it’s very hard to get any in this market. Currently my pay is fine. I didn’t grow that much in my career just because I moved a lot, I wanted to stay in a single place and grow. I don’t know how to turn this around. Any advise on what should I be talking to her. My project is very challenging fast paced as it is. She keeps telling me I can look elsewhere if I find it is not right fit.
Is that how managers are supposed to be? Sometimes I am scared that she sent me out through the door.
It sounds like she is transitioning you out of her team. The writing is on the wall; time to start looking before it gets worse. In your case, worse for you, not for her.
