I am in the process of applying for a SBA 504 loan to purchase a building to house our offices. I was told that I may run into issues because part of the building is currently set up as two apartments. I would like to keep the apartments and use the rest of the property for office space since the rent from the apartments would pay for the building. The offices would exceed the 51% requirement. As the business grows, we can convert the apartments to office space. Suggestions?

I was told on the phone when dialing my complex’s after hours number (which is managed by a 3rd party company) that my complex’s policy would let me in for a cost of $100 (as it was after hours).
