Actually the folks had a pretty similar convo a few weeks back. Post any follow up questions though if the thread doesn’t have your answers. We have lots of cloud peeps here.

If you were going to stay in audit, i would say it’s too early. It could be seen as a red flag. However, if you’re trying to change to a field you’re passionate about better then it’s totally understandable.
I say passionate because that’s really what will get you a job there if that’s what you want. You won’t be expected to know anything so it’s even more important for you to get some certs. Get certs, build labs so you can at least promise to lab stuff up so you don’t blow up a production environment :)
Seriously though. Enthusiasm and drive counts for a lot when you’re early in your career. My personal opinion is that all the public cloud providers have their pros and cons. It’s really what you do with it after that matters. Just learn one of them really well and the concepts will help you at least have a conversation about the others. Get your cloud job, then have a company pay you to learn the others on the job if it’s required.
Check out a certification in Cloud FinOps. Connect with me if you like it and have questions.
