I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

What state do you live and work in? What type of P & C do you sell now (personal lines? commercial?)
I work and living in Texas. P&C personal lines.
Depends—- hard to speak on exact carriers but in general you’re likely to get more benefits and PTO if you work directly for a carrier, but likely more pay and flexibility if you work for a local agency. Trade offs unfortunately.
Obviously larger local agencies (ie large independents vs captives) are going to give you a little bit more opportunity and benefits traditionally so sometimes a good mix of both.
