Start now. You might find that dream job. And could get a signing bonus equal to the EY bonus.
And you don’t have to work at EY until October!
I agree. I am leaving 1.5 months before the GT bonus payout which will be a great bonus but I am getting paid so much more at my new company. Additionally, a ton of people in public will leave after the bonus payout so you will have more competition.

How much notice do you plan to give? Your sweet spot for your last day would be late October to mid November. After that, companies are going to be focused on getting work done for the holidays and taking vacations, so you may see a drop in open opportunities. I’d recommend to start applying during the first and second week of October. The application, interview and offer stage will at least take 2-weeks, but could take 1-month or more depending on the Company. If you start applying earlier, you would have to draw it out a bit and set a start date over a month out which may be frowned upon (but still doable).
I think that would be my plan, have the bonuses hit then 4 week notice whenever after that
Why not look now? With the aim to leave after July. If you find a job you like, you can negotiate the measly $5k promo bonus for managers as a signing bonus or something. Not an amount worth waiting for. The market is hot now but you don’t know how it will be in 3 months. You should strike while the iron is hot.
Got it. That’s worth waiting for
Just did this at Deloitte with Friday 6/25 as my last day here. Started interviewing in March (so about 3 months of looking) to help me figure out what I wanted to do next in industry and accepted my preferred offer early May and asked to stay through the bonus payout that was on 6/11 (which wasn't worth it). I gave notice the following Monday. Also, DO NOT give a 4 week notice. You are replaceable and owe them nothing in this regard. If roles were reversed, you would not receive any notice if you were being fired.

Don’t they take it back if you leave that soon?
Let me know what you find out! :) I’m planning on doing the same next year
It depends. Everyone is hiring nowadays but depends on how hard you are looking.
I thought bonuses get paid out 7/30... what service line are you in? Unless you meant to say after promotion October 2nd/increased salary?
Ah just saw your other reply. Nvm
