Deloitte USI Hi All,
How does the 2nd round of interview goes in PwC? Is it very technical ? What are the chances of getting rejected in the 2nd stage? HR told me that would be the final round. Need your help asap.

Typically they’ll contact your current firm after you have a tentative offer.
I guess I would just be hesitant to take a second round interview with a firm that I am not 100% sure about if there is a chance that they reach out to my current firm before I accept the offer
Sounds like you may have been stealth’d at your current firm. No judgment, just comes off that way.
In that case, don’t worry. The new firm will give you an offer and as part of the background check/conflicts process, they’ll ONLY verify employment and employment dates with your current firm. If the new firm asks for references, they may or may not, then you can give them a specific partner who’s enjoyed working with you.
^This. I don’t hate my current firm, but would not mind exploring opportunities elsewhere. I see some good postings that match my experience in the practice area that I would like to pursue moving forward, but I am not 100% committed yet. It would be very awkward for me if a firm that I am interviewing reaches out to my current firm, but I ultimately end up choosing my current firm.
You should not be found out. The application process should always be confidential and no firm should ever reach out to your current firm without your consent. It is extremely rare that this doesn’t happen, and if a firm can’t be trusted, it’s a sure way to not to have quality candidates submit to them.
If you accept an offer they will do a background check to verify employment, but that still wouldn’t trigger any partners to know you’re looking.
The lateral process is a bit unnerving, especially as a junior. Smart that you’re asking the questions.

I've lateraled twice. The new firm does not ruin its relationship with their potential hires by ruining their livelihood. They know the deal.
