For all the girls/females/women/ladies out there: When you get engaged, would you rather get a ring from Tiffany or a bigger stone from a non-brand company (e.g. Blue Nile or Brilliant Earth)?

Another vote for Brilliant Earth. But just because I love their designs..... Seriously though. Unless you just have money to blow, I would choose a 2 carat, not that high quality stone in a setting/style that I like over a 0.75 carat Tiffany ring for the same price

like

Girl here. Fuck diamonds. They're not as precious thanks to DeBeers and they cause guys to think that they must spend an arm and a leg for one. My ring has a gemstone and I love it. My fiancé didn't have to take out a loan like other people I know.

Also, diamonds are a really stupid and worthless commodity, but I get that you're working in the confines of social norms.

like

Better stone, not necessarily bigger (although that is nice too).

like

A bigger stone of course! Tiff is a waste of money unless u have $$$$.

like

Brilliant Earth=conflict free=much better

like

I prefer blood diamonds. The more lives lost the more valuable it is.

like

Another vote for Brilliant Earth because conflict free.

like

Blue nile is conflict free too

like

Tiffany. Specifically from a conflict zone. (I'm a guy)

like

I'm a lady and I don't care about the ring at all.

like

The verdict is highest quality but also biggest. Name brand isn't important but quality and size are

like

Unless she's explicitly told you she doesn't care about the diamond, she cares about the diamond lol

like

I don't know any girl that doesn't want a high quality stone.

like

5$ and then spend the rest on something actually useful to your marriage. Like a mortgage down payment.

like

Once it's out of the box, literally no one can tell.

like

Tiffanys is dumb. Non-brand

like

EY1, I mean Tiffany has a really good stone (duh it's Tiffany) for my budget but other places have a bigger diamond with the same specs. I guess how much is the name worth it?

like

Bigger stone, doesn't matter where it's from

like

This hasn't been helpful :( what's the verdict?!!!

I had final round interviews last week for the company I really want to work for. I have an offer from another company, which I communicated to the recruiter which expedited the interview to final rounds. I need to respond to the other company's offer letter soon. Should I follow up with the hiring recruiter for the company I want an offer from? Or just move on if I haven't heard back by end of this week?

Currently a first year staff in Risk Advisory in a Mid-Tier Firm hoping to move to Big 4 for either Risk or Cyber. When would be the most appropriate time to make the change? I heard that Senior Staff in mid-tier would most likely be hired as an “Experienced Hire” in Big 4. So would it be smarter to make the move now as a first year staff since I’ll be considered Experienced Hire anyway?

Long time in the making; but we finally sold off from our 50% HWB short. We had two tests at the 3400 level, getting as high as 3420 today before the sell off. Momentum and pessimism over lack of stimulus could take us to the 3107 target quickly, nearly a 10 percent decline over the next month. Stay short my friends. It's going to get bumpy.

Don’t want to drive 700 miles per week M-F. What will dual model be like going forward? 1-2 times week, 4-5 month? Seems like tax was more flexible than audit pre-Covid
