I am tired of listings that say "flexible schedule" when they actually mean you have to be available 24/7 while they give you twelve hours a week. I asked a hiring manager for a set Sunday off for childcare and they basically ended the interview right there. Is it even possible to find a service job that respects a life outside of the building, or have we all just accepted that our souls belong to the roster?

I’m not sure what I’m looking for in this post, but I feel I just need to get stuff off my chest. I’m a new attorney, my first job is as an ADA in a large county in a rural comm. It’s only my 1st month in the position and I’m having trouble feeling as though people are complacent and often times careless with peoples lives.
