Quick qstn - I'm receiving HRA of 24075 from my employer but I would like dhow the rent paid as 96k p.a (while filing ITR). Even if I do so, I was only able to get exemption of 24075 from gross. Most haven't really achieved it because it's the wrong question. The better question is what kind of lifestyle do you want?
The focus then becomes on sustainably achieving the priorities underpinning that lifestyle. In consulting you rarely have a clean delineation between work time and life time, and the hours can be significant, so the question of balance is inherently impossible. But if you are prioritizing areas like personal development, travel and exposure of new experiences, enjoyment of challenging work environment, etc., then it's not a problem. You still have to establish boundaries but the mental model is a much healthier when you realize it's a lifestyle. You can enjoy it when otherwise you might be thinking your missing out or prioritizing the wrong areas of your life.
Also, lifestyle selection can change as you age. Younger I was in industry and found life unfulfilled because work was easy and i needed more challenging experiences. Consulting gave me the answer in work and added outside experiences and colleagues that fulfilled what was missing. Until a few years later I realized priorities were shifting and the lifestyle no longer fit my needs. Most of my day is unstructured now and I work all sorts of wierd hours. But in between I can spend time with loved ones and run errands and exercise and other things. I don't grow as much professionally but it's no longer as high on the priorities list, so that opens up alternative lifestyle.

Achieve WLB by learning when, how, and why to say no. The single most important skill to make this career sustainable in my opinion
I haven’t after 6 years and getting to manager. I’m trying to leave. I didn’t go to B-school.
You wish! With passing time things will go eerie and as a result it will become your new normal. 11 years into the industry and b school, nothing helped.
At some point you get to 30 and stop giving a shit*
*works well if you have an on demand specialization and clients love you.
