EY recruiting is such a mess. Applied and did a pre-recorded video interview, heard nothing for like 3 weeks. Then I get a random call saying they liked me and would I be available to attend an interview the following day. I say yes but never receive an email or additional details. Call back the number and it goes to voicemail. The following week I get a rejection email. Just so frustrating EY

This greatly depends on both location and cpa vs jd. I’m not in New England but I didn’t pass 98k (a few years ago now) until M3 (MCOL).
While in a HCOL with advanced degree in a sub service line I made 100 as a senior 1 and...much more as a M1. But make less than NYC or SF. But if you’re just pure tax/CPA it’s very different from a subject matter specialist.
International/Transfer Pricing. We have CPA, CFA, MBA, JD, and PhDs that earn more.
Pretty sure our group starts at $95K for a manager.
Southeast, non-specialty.
JD/LLM hcol 102k. New manager. Supposedly highest paid new manager in my group.
CPA hcol at 102k as well as a new manager. Got an offer for 140k base plus 20% bonus for tax manager position in industry. Strongly considering taking it.
I had a similar offer, didn’t take it and regret it. You can always boomerang back to big4 of industry isn’t for you.
