Some days I feel like I produce great work and other days I feel like I should be fired for how terrible my work is

Few days back I had a post stating that I would be joining one of the consultancy by end of this month, my question was will my joining date be impacted due to the current tech layoff. Is there a way that the new employer can monitor the post and take necessary action?

Has anyone ever been "let go of"? Either laid off or fired. How did you get through it?

After you are stealth laid off, other than job search, what do you do? I assume they won’t give you work and even if they do, you can politely decline? How do you feel about you are not progressing anymore and seeing other people progressing in their career? I have no intention to make partner, but still feel a bit stuck not doing that much.

Not sure why the execs keep their jobs and layoff production. Do we need all top-level operation staff when there isn’t much left to operate? I have ahead time seeing C-suite doin any production work

Anyone looking at traveling to Costa Rica? They have a list of states from which they will admit tourists while also requiring a negative covid test, health history, etc. As someone not on the approved list, I am bitter and curious why the population is grouped at a state level when there are massively different rates of infection within each state (not to mention personal responsibility) and you are already required to present a negative test. I'm starting to realize that a lot of my life problems are from me trying to treat my depression with alcohol. This is the most sober I've been in a long time and generally I feel a lot better but it would be so easy to get drunk. Physically the consequences are what are keeping me from doing it. It makes me feel really good though and I miss the high, I am grateful that I can resist it now but at least temporarily it was a cure that worked it made me feel accepted and whole.

Feel like audit scheduling is always done on a knifes edge in that the timeline and staff schedules are enough so that if everyone works 60 hour weeks and no issues are identified then it can be filed on time. But even small things that increase the work can wildly throw off the schedule and cause hours to skyrocket for the staff on the job. No real point here, just ranting.

Literally can’t pass FAR exam. I think I am just not cut out to use becker. Does anyone have any advice? At this point I don’t even know if I want to pursue this anymore. What if I want to switch to a different service like in the future, can I still do so with average reviews? Will other firms know my rating if I apply elsewhere?
