I applied for a job that is asking the candidates to work on a test project for free (4 hours of work) BEFORE a phone screen. This was after I already completed two other "tests" as part of the application. It was not outlined in the job description that this would be the process. So basically, you could go through the application, take a "personality test", an "aptitude test", and then a test project in which you won't get paid and NOT be guaranteed even an interview. Yeah, okay.

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.

Hi Everyone! I have a background in health research. I received my first offer as a ux researcher 3 (1 step below senior) which is pretty competitive compared to my former field. It is with fanduel for 120k base, 6% bonus (8% next year since I’m not starting in jan) , I believe 10% in equity (12.5% next year) total comp 130. I’m extremely grateful but just wanted to see if this was acceptable for the industry. I’m mixed methods and they want to build out their quant side. Should I accept as is?
