I applied for an agency attorney - enforcement job at CFPB. Wondering what the timeline for applications usually is? Also, can anyone confirm that references will not be called until after the initial interview?

I applied to this and I’m currently an attorney at a three-letter agency and have applied to different federal agencies before in multiple application cycles/different years. It’s really agency dependent as to these questions, and even then, depending on the needs/budget/size of applicant pool it still varies. I would say after the closing date it’s rarely more than a month for the initial interview though. How many interviews — I’ve seen as few as 2 and as many as 5; 3 is the most common. Total timeline — again just IME I would expect around 3 months to final decision. And on references never seen them contact references without asking first (and that was always well after the initial interview).

Thanks, I am in public interest now so I don’t think they will see any threat of me leaving for a firm.

I interviewed for this position. I got the call about a month after the announcement closed. I did not go any further but I’ve seen it reposted a couple times. Other people from my office were hired from earlier announcements

Hello!

I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at
Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.

Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

Has anyone been given an offer or received further movement on their application after a month or more from your last interview? Not sure if it’s odd that the company reached out after my final round interview to have a call and “discuss next steps” but then they haven’t responded to me since I’ve followed up (I’ve poked 3 times every 11 days or so but I plan to leave it be now until they respond).

Hi, Can someone please connect me to the recruiter/HR?
There is a Test Engineer (Automation) opening in Google which I see on LinkedIn. It seems relevant. Applied a few times already but I don't think submitting resume is helping here.
Also, I hear HR at Google helps candidate prepare for the interview as well.
Any help would be appreciated. TIA 😊

Hi all!

Had 2 interviews in the first half of December for a Product Specialist role, but it's been quiet since the 13th.
I know it's a busy time of year but is it common for a Recruiter to ghost?
I followed up with a Happy Holidays e-mail to no answer and the recruiter no longer has a #Hiring on their LinkedIn profile so I was just wondering if I should take the hint and move on.

Appreciate any and all input!

Planning a trip to Rome and Naples with day trips to Tivoli and Pompeii. Is 1 week enough? I feel like reading through 3/4 day Rome and 2 day Naples itineraries, the trip seems rushed. I have unlimited PTO but my SO is limited in time (but luckily he can work extra hrs and then use less PTO). I would say max we could do is 1.5 weeks but adding on 3-5 more days seems almost too much? Thoughts? For reference, I did Venice-Florence-Rome in a week and it seemed okay but it also wasn’t as planned out
