Everything always takes me so long to do :/
I’m not sure how this will impact this bowl, but it is worth pointing out the need to assess whether there should be concern for those in this bowl. While we all understand ADHD is something attorneys are completely capable of managing with legal positions, not everyone in the field agrees with that. https://joinfishbowl.com/post_va66ztgmkw

Same OP, but I just saw the first response and went down a 2 hour rabbit hole on CFA franchises instead of writing the memo I’m procrastinating so I have nothing helpful to add 😂😭
Are you me? Lol
Chick-fila franchise, get a homestead and retire … Again knowing me, I am probably never going to get around to these either …
Yeah this actually seems like a really strong plan. Good luck with the process if you’ve started already!
Despite thinking this every day, I do not. But I keep showing up to work, and time keeps flying by, and I like money, so….
I met a pet grief counselor making as much as I do and it made me reconsider everything
Same!! I’m doing the best I can for as long as I can and saving as much as I can in case the worst happens. Almost done paying my loans, 6 years ahead on my mortgage, have some investments, and emergency savings are fully funded. Hoping I can find something in house or non profit or gov or smaller firm that works better for my lifestyle
Thank you! 7 years out and just started anxiety meds so I know the end of big law is near for me and I’m going to start seriously looking for something else I might enjoy more soon
Kind of. I’m really just envisioning a path that works for me. I like the field of law that i practice, but believe we are overworked in private practice.
I plan to start my own firm in about a year. I’ll work 10-4. I’ll do 1-2 week shut downs twice a year. I also like to invest in real estate. I am on this earth to live and experience life.
I am considering the personal fitness industry but huge time and monetary investment.

I worked for big law then in-house counsel for decades but had no work-life balance. I left the big money to go solo & spend more time with my kids and taking care of myself. It was lucrative enough for several years, but it's not reliable income and requires serious multi-tasking. I would love to be a professor (I think) but don't even know how to get started. I suggest trying to look into other ways to use your degree but take a non-traditional path and try to ask people who have done it successfully (professors, John Grisham, depending upon what you enjoy and where your skills lead you. I found lots of alternate paths when I looked into it years ago, but be prepared for less money, There are good resources on the internet.
