Maybe a good field watch, if you want just a watch .. or the Apple Watch is also fine
Apple Watches aren't so popular around here, but I have one and wear it daily for at least part of the day. I also use mine for alarms and alerts on my desk and nightstand. I do find them useful. I can't recommend one in particular because I've had mine for a couple years and it's still going strong, but mine's a ceramic Series 3 GPS and cellular. I have clanked it against marble, tile, and steel several times and it still looks like new. I don't think it's stictly necessary to have the cellular feature but if you would like to do some activity and leave your phone at home, that's where it might come in handy. If that's not something you imagine yourself doing, then a regular GPS one would be fine.

Why not? It’s a good daily beater. You can also look into g shocks in case you want something that’ll survive a nuke!
I have the Apple Watch series 3 still and it still runs great. I only use it for exercise purposes when I run and lift but I got my wife the series 5 over a year ago and she wears it daily. I’d like the series 7 and so would she but neither of us are in a rush to do so given how well our older versions have held up. I’d highly recommend the Apple Watch, especially for its utility in terms of the apps it holds and what you can do with it.
I swore I’d never wear an Apple Watch…then my parents bought me one as a gift. Now I wear it daily. It’s hard to downplay the practicality of them. It’s durable, tracks my activity and workouts, lasts all day, can control my music, and gets notifications. My luxury watch is now reserved for special occasions
