I did almost exactly that. I was an adjuster and claims examiner at a few companies and made the switch to Business Analysis.. my advice is do it!
Well I took a short course in BA for like 4 months. It was like a bootcamp in the basics. I put it on my resume and started applying. If you can look for those type of positions internally at Zurich it may give you a leg up.. but I def recommend a course or bootcamp as a start. Not required, but learning sql and whatnot will be an eye catcher. Also a biggie, tailoring your resume with your transferable skills for the role u want. Being an adjuster, you already have alot of great skills for other positions, the resume just needs to show that. If you're not up to do it, maybe find a good resume rewriting company.
Same
I’ve been thinking the same thing! My degree ,background and work experience is far from the tech field but I’m really considering the change as well.
Yes like there is opportunity to advance but I think customer facing is not my mojo anymore, I used to love it but the people are draining me
How come?
I did actually already, I feel like being customer facing is draining me
If you don’t mind my asking, why? These skills are highly sought after within the industry and I suspect demand will pick up even more as time goes on.
It is but for being a claims adjuster I feel like 50k a year is not worth it to me
Literally. Same.
Check out positions at Travelers. The pay bands are listed in the posting.
TY for sharing.
